About The Howell Athletic Club was founded by two very interesting guys named Stan and Louis. These guys had known each other for more than 4 years before they ever got around to discussing their love for inventions, engineering, software, art and just improving things in general. They know the way things should be done, and how to improve everything just ask them...

Howell Athletic Club (what the heck?)The Howell Athletic Club is a collection of companies; some very closely related like The Scarab (brand driven webs), Strawberry Art (brand centered corporate identities) and Bungle Software. One could easily make a point that none of the three could exist without the other two. However, Woodcarver's Workshop, seems to come from left field. But there's one underlying principal behind all our companies.
Tomorrow's products for everyday life, Today!
Simply put, all of the HAC companies manufacture and sell products and services that are innovative, work well and are something you know you have to have the minute you set eyes on them or even hear about them! As the motto says, we aim to create tomorrow's products, things of the future, if you will. Things for everyday life, things that you can actually use and that you find useful. And we aim to give them to you today.
What's with the name? The name Howell Athletic Club just sort of grew up organically like a flower. It started as a joke. When Stan and Louis first started meeting once a week, before they ever dreamed of starting a company, Stan suggested that they should name their gatherings as "Meeting's of the Howell Athletic Club, since nobody here is doing anything even remotely athletic." In simple fact, it was a joke. And it stuck. Careful what you joke about! | Who are the enigmatic Stan and Louis?
Nobody's really sure. Some legends say that they both rolled in from the north, born in on a cold Alberta Clipper one day. Some tell tales of Louis hatching from an egg and Stan being a retired cowboy from a wild west show. One thing is for sure, neither of them is afraid to be different or to explore ideas that other people just don't understand. We do know this thoughLouis has studied - Graphic Art and Design
- Oil Painting
- Computer Science
- The Psychology of Management
(which honestly we'd never heard of before and didn't really believe was a thing, but he says it is.)
Stan has studied
- Fine Art
- Manufacturing
- Inventing and the invention process
- And... well... just about everything really
(Seriously, we keep trying to find something that Stan hasn't studied or worked at in the past and it just can't be done. It really can't.)
